During BACK STAGE ON STAGE
designer Anouk van Klaveren will present part of her collection
PROJECT 000 002 – VESTES AD ILLUSTRANDAM EMBRYOGENESIS IN HOMINIS ET MAMALIUM
ABNORMEN, which she created for her graduation in Textile & Fashion
at the Royal Academy of Art. In this collection alienation and the relationship between normal and abnormal take centre stage.
For BACK STAGE ON STAGE
she creates a performative sequel
to this collection, PROJECT 000 004 HYPERTRICHOSIS 2.0, by bringing the production process of bow ties, made from human hair, to the stage. The process resembles a factory
assembly line. The work questions
the current trend among fashion
houses and shops for transparency about the production process and the origin of the base materials. Consu-
mers increasingly want to know how things are produced and where they come from. But where does one
draw the line?
