Interior Architecture and Furniture Design student Louise Rietvink presents a cruet stand for pepper, salt, oil, vinegar and a mortar. This cruet stand, made out of wood, ceramics and glass derives from her investigation into the relationship between food and hygiene.
For Louise Rietvink hygiene is a crucial aspect of feeling ‘at home’.
The feeling of hygiene gives the user the freedom to touch and pick up things, without them appearing dirty or alien. Her designs appeal to a
feeling of trust, which is crucial to eating out in a restaurant.
