Designer Minsun Kim’s installation HOME FOR A MOMENT, first presented at her graduation in 2013, consists of a wooden structure and miniature plaster replicas of objects. Minsun Kim is interested in the meaning of the concept ‘home’ and the relationship between intimacy and space. People use objects and the memories connected to them to make themselves familiar with certain places. ‘Home is where the heart is’, as
the saying goes. Is it possible to
(re-)create a feeling of intimacy and home in every given place?
During BACK STAGE ON STAGE she will invite visitors to give form to
their own intimate space within her
installation. Minsun Kim will enter into dialogue with the visitors, listen to personal stories and translate these into spatial settings with her miniature objects. The settings will grow throughout the week and form a landscape that will spatially represent a collective feeling of ‘home’.
